We could have told you that Amazon Web Services (AWS) was going to be a huge force in the Cloud hosting market. What we weren’t certain of is how willing the majority of potential customers would be to adopt cloud-based services.

Well, those sitting on the fence have likely been affected by the recent economic turmoil, so Amazon’s latest drop in prices may prove the deciding factor. All support plans are now half as costly as they were (in other words a 50% cut), which is good news to those of us hit hard enough to seriously consider things like debt restructuring and home mortgage refinancing.

Need more? Well, Amazon has also added to their range of plans, supplementing the existing Gold and Silver packages with (yes, you guessed it) Bronze and Platinum tiers.

The price drop for support, plus scalability to suit any needs, has Amazon’s cloud looking mighty sunny, so to speak, for the upcoming year. Well, as long as you’re not planning to host leaked government documents!
